More Than a Plunge.

Baptism is not merely a physical act, but a spiritual one that holds significant importance. It is an outward expression of an inward transformation. Through the submerging of our body into the water we symbolise the death of our old self and rise up into our new life in Christ.

Water

Baptism by Immersion.

Water baptism - or baptism by immersion - is the act of totally submerging oneself under water. This spiritual act symbolises the death of our old self and the renewing of our life in Christ. Romans 6 teaches that when we are baptised, we are united with Jesus in his death and resurrection. The Bible tells us that every new believer is to be baptised into Christ.

Spirit

Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Baptism by immersion is for salvation, whereas the baptism of the Holy Spirit is for ministry. Jesus taught that when the Holy Spirit comes over us - baptises us - we receive the power for witnessing. This experience is not restricted to any one church or denomination but is available to everyone who believes in Jesus.
